Looking for Light in the Darkness

MT 6:22 "The eye is the
lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are bad, your
whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness,
how great is that darkness!
Have you ever wondered why someone can be so pulled toward darkness rather
than light? Many times it is because people are seeking to fill the spiritual void they feel inside with a god that they can research
and control on their own terms. A god of darkness. Most people do not like the idea of being accountable to a God of light
that tells them what they can or cannot do, but they still feel the need to seek spiritual answers, so they begin to delve
deeper and deeper into the dark spiritual realm until darkness becomes their religion.
MT 7:21 "Not everyone
who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in
your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, `I never
knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
Many people in the paranormal community will tell you that they are religious
and that they are even Christians, yet they do not really know the Lord and they wonder around from one place of
darkness to another to get their next spiritual fix by ghost-hunting. You see, you cannot just know about Jesus, you
have to do the will of God for your life in order to be saved. If part of God's will for your life is getting rid
of evil spirits from peoples homes and bodies then so be it, but we should never try to replace God's light with spiritual
darkness.
1JN 1:6
If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do
not live by the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
You will never overcome darkness with darkness, you need light to overcome
darkness, and only God's spiritual light can overcome spiritual darkness. If you try to do paranormal work without using God's
protection and direction then you are really just seeking spiritual fellowship with darkness in place of God. God wants to
use you to help dispel darkness with His light, not to join the darkness, so let Jesus bring you fully into His light
today.
PS 107:14 He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and
broke away their chains.
