ISA 41:12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. 13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

   When I had an evil spirit manifesting in my home I have to be honest with you, I felt very helpless, alone, and discouraged many times like there was nobody to turn to for help. I tried emailing people, calling people, and praying non-stop, but still the activity persisted, and I was dumbfounded on how to deal with it or to make it stop. It seems that just when you think it is going to stop something new happens just to knock you off balance and keep you on edge some more. But then God began to show me how to get rid of this spirit and make sure that it would never come back again. Below are just a few basic things that you can do to end your own problem if you cannot find any good help in your area. These are just basic guidelines, so ask God yourself what you should do to get rid of any unwelcome spiritual visitors in your home.

1. Identify any areas that you or your family have been breaking God's life-rules or playing around with the occult. It may not be as overt as playing with a Ouija Board, but what you watch on TV and surf on the Internet can act like a door that allows certain things to come into your home. So make sure that your family are keeping those spiritual doors closed.

2. Try to discreetly find out the history of the place that you are living in, who lived there before you and what occult activity if any that may have gone on there before you moved in. The spiritual infestation may not have anything to do with you at all, it might just be something that someone else did that opened a door and caused this spiritual activity to begin in your home.

3. Even though the unwanted spiritual activity in your home may spur you to want to study and research the paranormal, be careful because this too can act as a volition of will as you delve deeper into this dark spiritual area. It can also make the evil spirit seem much bigger in your mind than it really is and generate a spirit of fear that just feeds this spirit.

4. Put some crosses up in your home and make sure that they are tacked down good just in case there is a demon there that may try to rip them down. Get rid of anything in the home that is occult, pagan, or new age in nature, and say a family prayer renouncing any and all involvement in anything that might be an offense to God and limit His ability to help you.

5. Walk through each room of your home and take a bottle of olive oil and put the sign of the cross over each door (including closets, basements, or attics, where a spirit can hide) and say, "In the name of Jesus Christ I dedicate this room and home to the glory of God and I command any and all evil spirits to leave this place and to never return”.

6. Have a meeting as a family and turn your lives over to Jesus Christ and ask for His help in ending your spiritual infestation. Verbally renounce and repent of any sin in your life and forgive everyone you have been angry with. Anoint each other with oil the same way you did with the doors and get bibles for each of you to say prayers with at night and to sleep with as protection.

7. Go through the phone book or Internet and look for a Spirit-filled bible believing church in your area and ask them to come and bless your home. Pray and ask God to send the right people. Refrain from calling in psychics or people that do not believe in God, as this can actually hinder a house-clearing because God condemns mediums and spiritists.

LEV 19:31 " `Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God."

   The main thing to remember is that God wants to help you, so try not to get discouraged if you hit a rough spot. There are three basic ways to get rid of an evil spirit; One way is to starve them out by just not feeding them what they have been feeding on whether it is fear or sin. The second way is to drive them out with the power and authority of Jesus Christ as a faith-filled believer. The third way is to squeeze them out by filling yourself up so much with God that they have no room left to exist in your life. Trying to fight a spirit with fleshly tactics will never work. And lastly, put on the full armor of God like it says in scriptures below. Persevere in seeking and trusting in God and deliverance will eventually come if you don’t give up. Because the power of Jesus always wins!

EPH 6:11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
