I want to talk to all of you who consider yourself to be a Christian and who are also called to help people to get free from evil spirits. I just want to caution you that in your research and work for God to be very careful about not being pulled too far into darkness as you help others get free of it. Like the saying goes, "we are what we eat", and when we feed on more darkness than light we can become defiled and full of more darkness than the light.

   Things like watching paranormal shows, reading haunting type study books, or being exposed to the latest occult themed movies and video games can all act as a beacon for demons and give them permission to come into our homes and harass us, (or worse). Many spiritual infestations have started with someone becoming a little too curious about the spirit-realm and before you know it after viewing all the ghost shows, they actually get one. What a coincidence.

DT 18:10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

   A Christian has no business being part of a secular ghost-hunting team, or joining in on a séance' or all night vigil, but yet this is what takes place on many so called ghost-hunting investigations. God doesn't want us trying to contact the dead or prove there is an afterlife, He wants us to tell people that there is life through the Light of His son Jesus Christ. If God calls you to fight the darkness He will not expect you to join the darkness in order to do it.

   Now if you do end up with a spiritual infestation or God calls you to help someone with one then take some time to really pray first and ask God how it should be handled. Playing with spirits on television may seem like fun but it’s totally different if you have to live in a home with one. This is not something to take lightly or try to beat on your own.    If you are called to battle spiritual darkness, then your weapons will always be God's light and the spiritual armor that it talks about in Ephesians 6 below. The only thing that drives demons away is the authority and light of Jesus Christ, so we must fill ourselves up on Him every day in order to be able to stay strong. So if you are spiritually curious then satisfy that curiosity with reading the bible, praying to God, worshiping Jesus, and walking in His Light. Jesus satisfies.

EPH 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
